It helps reduce blatant cheating - yes really players have been found guilty of changing scores before the data is collated post session. One player in England was even banned for changing scores using a one table one device scoring electrnoics.
Apple made billions selling iphones and ipads to folk during the pandemic and we have no doubt android suppliers did too. Many of those went to bridge players so they could play bridge. Every day we hear from someone who finds bridge on site boring now. At IBEScore we think a good reason for this is that players have become familiar with more information thanks to the abundance of statistics in online play. Let’s give players what they are used to now - rankings, comparisons and correction in real-time.
Volunteers are becoming thin on the ground. And deserve a break. Clubs who cannot afford professional Directors rely on volunteers giving up to two hours at the end of games to collect, collate, input and produce results each time a session is played. Actually the cost of a director can be saved entirely when players input their own scores, and can seek world class director support when things go wrong - all at the click of a button on their own phone.
